TiviMate Backup & Restore: Move Your IPTV Setup Between Devices (2025 Guide)

Whether you’re upgrading your Firestick, doing a factory reset, or simply want to safeguard playlists, creating a backup in TiviMate Premium ensures you never lose your configuration.

While TiviMate doesn’t yet offer automatic cloud syncing, its built-in Backup & Restore tool lets you export and re-import your setup in minutes.

⚙️ How TiviMate Backup Works

  1. Open TiviMate → Settings → Backups.

  2. Select Create Backup.

  3. Choose where to save it — internal storage, USB, or network location.

TiviMate creates a .db backup file (typically tivimate_backup_2025.db) containing your playlists, groups, favourites, EPG, and player preferences.

💡 Tip: Keep two copies — one current, one older — so you can roll back changes if needed.

📦 Moving Your Setup to Another Device

  1. On the original device, Settings → Backups → Create Backup.

  2. Copy that backup file to a USB drive or network share.

  3. On the new device, copy the file into TiviMate’s backup directory.

📁 Correct Folder Paths (Updated for 2025)

Android / Fire OS Version Folder Path Notes
Older Devices (Android ≤ 10 / Fire OS 7) /Android/data/ar.tvplayer.tv/files/backup/ Legacy path; may still work on older sticks.
Newer Devices (Android 11+ / Fire OS 8+) /Android/media/ar.tvplayer.tv/ Create this folder manually if it doesn’t exist. Place the backup file here.

⚠️ If TiviMate doesn’t detect your backup in one path, try the other.
Newer Firesticks restrict access to the data folder by default.

Then, in TiviMate, go to Settings → Backups → Restore and choose your file — your full layout will return instantly.

🧠 Tips for Reliable Backups

  • Label clearly: mainsetup_jan2025.db, sportslist_backup.db.

  • Update often: After adding a new playlist or EPG link.

  • Test restore: Confirm it works before you need it.

Troubleshooting

Can’t find the backup folder? Create a new backup first; it generates the directory.
Restore fails? Ensure the file sits in the right folder (media for new devices).
Missing playlists? Verify your URLs are still active and storage permissions granted.
