If you’re setting up TiviMate for the first time or planning to upgrade to Premium, you’ll likely run into TiviMate Companion.

They’re related, but they do completely different jobs. Understanding the difference saves time and avoids the usual “why can’t I activate Premium?” frustration.

What Is TiviMate?

TiviMate is the IPTV player you install on your streaming device (Firestick, Android TV, Nvidia Shield, etc.). It’s the app you actually use to watch live TV and browse your guide.

Key features of TiviMate

  • Clean, TV-style interface with EPG (TV Guide)

  • Supports playlists via Xtream Codes or M3U

  • Favourites, groups, search, and channel management

  • Catch-up support (if your provider supports it)

  • Premium features like multiple playlists, backups, and more

Important: TiviMate is only a player. It doesn’t include channels or content.

What Is TiviMate Companion?

TiviMate Companion is a separate app used to buy and manage TiviMate Premium.

It’s available on Android phones/tablets via the Google Play Store, and it’s used to:

  • Purchase or renew your Premium licence

  • Log in and manage your subscription

  • Activate devices under your licence

You generally only open Companion once (or when you need to manage devices).

It is not for streaming.

Why You Can’t Find TiviMate Companion on Firestick

Firestick doesn’t support Google Play Billing, so TiviMate Companion won’t appear on Fire TV devices.

If you’re using a Firestick, the normal flow is:

  1. Install TiviMate Companion on an Android phone/tablet

  2. Purchase Premium and log in

  3. Go back to TiviMate on your Firestick/Android TV box

  4. Sign into TiviMate using the same account to unlock Premium

Once activated, Premium features unlock on your devices under that licence.

Avoid Unofficial “Workarounds”

You’ll see modified apps or “activation hacks” online. Don’t use them.
