EPG Time Wrong on TiviMate or Smarters? Here’s the 2025 Fix
Few things are more frustrating than seeing your guide list a show that aired an hour ago — or one that hasn’t started yet.
This happens when your device time zone, EPG source, or offset settings are out of sync.
The good news? It’s easy to fix — and the same solution works for both TiviMate and IPTV Smarters Pro.
1. Check Your Device Time and Zone
Before changing anything inside the app, confirm your device clock is accurate.
On Firestick:
-
Go to Settings → Preferences → Time Zone
-
Set the correct region and time
-
Restart your device
On Android TV:
-
Open Settings → System → Date & Time
-
Enable Automatic Date & Time
-
Enable Automatic Time Zone
If “Automatic” fails, disable it and manually select your correct time zone.
2. Adjust Time Offset in TiviMate
If your device time is correct but the guide is still an hour off, adjust the offset.
Steps:
-
Open TiviMate → Settings → TV Guide → Time Offset
-
Increase or decrease by +1 hour or -1 hour
-
Reload the guide to check alignment
Pro Tip: Some playlists use UTC while others use local server time — so you might need to experiment once or twice.
3. Fix Time Offset in IPTV Smarters
Smarters has its own time-sync system separate from the device clock.
Steps:
-
Open Smarters → Settings → EPG Time Shift
-
Adjust +1h or -1h depending on whether your guide is behind or ahead
-
Tap Save Changes and reload the EPG
Restart the app if you don’t see the change immediately.
4. Confirm the EPG Source
If your provider’s XMLTV file or Xtream feed is out of sync, even correct offset settings won’t help.
To test:
-
Open the EPG link in a browser.
-
Check the timestamp inside the XML data.
If it’s offset by one or more hours, the issue lies with your provider — not the app.
Fix: Contact your provider or try using their backup EPG link if available.
5. Clear and Reload EPG Data
Corrupted or cached guide data can cause time desync.
In TiviMate:
-
Go to Settings → TV Guide → Clear EPG Data
-
Then select Refresh EPG
In Smarters:
-
Go to Settings → EPG → Clear Data → Reload EPG
This forces the app to rebuild the guide using fresh timestamps.
Quick Reference — Time Fix Table
| Fix | Offset Direction | |
|---|---|---|
| Guide shows programs 1 hour early | Add +1h offset | +1h |
| Guide shows programs 1 hour late | Add -1h offset | -1h |
| Device time itself wrong | Correct time zone | — |
| Everything offset by multiple hours | Provider EPG issue | — |
Quick Recap
✅ Set the correct time zone on your device
✅ Adjust Time Offset in TiviMate or Smarters
✅ Reload or clear EPG data
✅ Test your XMLTV feed for time accuracy
✅ Restart device after changes
Final Tip
EPG desync is one of the easiest IPTV issues to fix — yet one of the most common.
Once you’ve corrected your offset and refreshed your guide, your program times will remain perfectly aligned unless your provider changes feed settings again.
Keep this quick fix handy — it’ll save you and your users a lot of guesswork in 2025.
